The Environmental Health Division licenses and inspects over 1,000 food service establishments within Ingham County. These establishments include restaurants, hospital and university canteens and mobile units.

The purpose of the Environmental Health Divisions activities are to mitigate the risk posed by food-borne diseases through an effective establishment inspection program and food service education & training.
